Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist and musician. She was the youngest and first woman to receive a British House of Commons Shield she's received Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to perform live and to be a presenter for the awards ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was the Indian young sitar singer. She is Ravi Shankar's student and is also his daughter of Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982. During the first few years of her life she was split between London New Delhi. She gave her debut performance in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. Later the same year, in Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in the year 1999. Anouskha was only an teen, has enjoyed an impressive recording and performing career. She has performed with her father on stage for many years. She released Anourag her first album solo in 1998. In 2002, she released her Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. The stage is a very important aspect of her life. She's played in many famous venues around the world. Her career extends beyond music. Bapi: The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. Also, in a number of films. In 2003, she played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she portrays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her professional career, and we can expect many other things to be expected from this talented lady. Anoushka was born in England and spent a lot of her youth between London as well as Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and went to the high school there.
